Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and frequent reactions on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional championship, took control to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued four early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
